Children's Books
Grant has a brand-new backpack, a classroom waiting for him, and about fifty butterflies racing around inside his tummy. What if he doesn't know anybody? What if he can't find his classroom? And—perhaps most importantly—what if his teacher turns out to be a dragon? As Grant takes his first steps into school, he discovers a welcoming teacher, a new friend who loves dinosaurs, plenty of surprises, and something he didn't expect: school might actually be fun. Warm, funny, and reassuring, Grant's First Day captures the excitement and uncertainty of one of childhood's biggest milestones. With colorful illustrations and a gentle story about courage, friendship, and trying something new, it's a perfect read for children preparing for their own first day of school.
